QUEER RUN CLUB

The Queer Run Club of Waterloo is a 2SLGBTQIA+ running club which meets every Sunday. Run for about 45 minutes and break up into different-paced groups (from hiking to running.) The terrain is considered moderate so please wear appropriate footwear and dress for the conditions. Check the Spectrum website for details of where to meet.

TRANSMASC PEER SUPPORT

A supportive environment for all transmasculine identifying people and their allies. Please note due to mature content this group is limited to those ages 18 and up. The group will meet both in-person and virtually on Zoom and is free to attend.

SPECTRUM PRIME

This event is for mature members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community to create a welcoming environment. The goal is to reduce isolation and expand networks of friends. Join us for a casual discussion and social group for mature adults. 

QUEER READING CIRCLE

Queer Reading Circle is a safe and welcoming space for individuals to connect and discuss materials by 2SLGBTQIA+ writers. Enjoy book show and tells, group readings and discussions of poetry. No need to prepare in advance, all reading materials are provided.

BLACK HISTORY CELEBRATION

Celebrate Black History Month with your local community! Enjoy a special author reading for kids with Antonio Michael Downing followed by fun, creative activities. Test your knowledge with a trivia game about Black History, and collaborate on a group artwork which will remain on display as a lasting tribute.

TRAVELLERS TOUR-ASIA

For four spectacular Sundays, the KPL will transform into a hub of cultural immersion. There is free food from DTK restaurants, live entertainment, music, activities, child programming and more. GAME AND SOCIAL DROP-IN

This weekly drop-in program promotes inclusion within the community by getting people together for games, fun and conversation. There will be a wide selection of board and card games to play. 

BLACK HISTORY MONTH ART

Alma Thomas was a trailblazing, Black artist whose colourful and vibrant abstract art reflected her radiant spirit. In this session, explore Thomas’s iconic work Resurrection (1966) which made history as the first piece by a Black woman displayed in the public spaces of the White House.

FLORAL EMBROIDERY WORKSHOP

Learn basic embroidery stitches while creating a floral design of your choice. Regardless of your skill level, take the time to connect with and create relationships with fellow 2SLGBTQIA+ people in the region while making a beautiful piece for your home. All supplies are provided.
